The Department teaches and trains students in scientific and practical terms to gain the skills necessary for the practice of working in different radiology techniques and applications in special way

The Department’s educational programmes are carried out through courses covering anatomy, tissue, physiology, pathology, medical bases, computer medical applications, radiation physics, applied physics in medical technology and modern techniques in diagnostic radiography and ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine, computer tomography and radiotherapy. Thus, they can make and understand radiological images of various kinds and work with radiologists, nuclear medicine doctors, and doctors specializing in examining tumors and other various diseases. The program also prepares graduates to work as medical technicians in the field of diagnostic radiology sciences in radiology and medical imaging departments in hospitals and health centers.

An integrated department in teaching radiological technology and medical imaging in a way that supports development, research and development in Iraq, and has contributed to building a healthy community and graduating new and efficient generations in the medical field.

2- Training students in how to deal with various pathological conditions within the radiology department, ways to take care of it and justify radiation
3- Providing the appropriate environment and the necessary capabilities to enable faculty members to increase their capacity and develop their academic skills to ensure the quality and outputs of education
