Department Of Power Mechanics Technical Engineering

About The Department

The Department of Power Mechanics Technical Engineering at Al-Nukhba University is one of the specialized engineering departments within the College of Technical Engineering, aiming to graduate scientifically and practically qualified technical engineers capable of working in the fields of generation, transmission, and distribution of mechanical power, operation and maintenance of engines and turbines, power and control systems, and heavy mechanical equipment. The department focuses on providing students with theoretical knowledge and advanced practical skills in the fields of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, combustion, internal combustion engines, gas and steam turbines, and measurement and control systems, through intensive practical training in laboratories equipped with the latest devices and simulation systems, under the supervision of an experienced and specialized teaching staff.

Our Words

Our Vision, Mission & Goals

To be a pioneer in power mechanics technical engineering education and to graduate innovative technical engineers who contribute to the development of energy, industrial, and mechanical sectors at both the local and international levels.

To provide distinguished technical engineering education in the field of power mechanics that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, enhance applied scientific research and innovation, and serve the community, in order to graduate qualified technical engineers capable of competing locally and globally, while adhering to the highest standards of quality, occupational safety, and engineering ethics.

1. Preparing Distinguished Technical Engineers in Power Mechanics: Providing an integrated academic program that covers all aspects of power mechanics technical engineering, and equipping graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in power generation plants, factories, industrial companies, and specialized maintenance workshops.

2. Developing Practical and Technical Skills: Providing students with advanced practical experience through training in operating and maintaining engines, turbines, power systems, and measurement and control equipment.

3. Enhancing Applied Scientific Research and Innovation: Encouraging faculty members and students to conduct applied research in the fields of energy efficiency, engine performance improvement, and the development of mechanical power systems.

4. Community Service: Contributing to providing technical and engineering consultations to the community and industrial sector, and supporting projects for energy consumption rationalization and mechanical efficiency improvement.

5. Partnership with the Industrial and Energy Sector: Building a strong cooperation network with energy companies, factories, generation plants, and specialized maintenance workshops to provide distinguished training and employment opportunities for graduates.

6. Commitment to Quality and Accreditation: Applying comprehensive quality standards in education and practical training, and working towards obtaining programmatic accreditation for the department from local and international bodies.
