About The Department

The Department of Technical Radiology and Sonar at Al-Nukhba University is one of the vital and specialized departments within the College of Technical Medical Sciences, aiming to graduate scientifically and practically qualified radiology and sonar technicians capable of working as an essential part of the medical team in radiology departments, hospitals, and specialized health centers. The department focuses on providing students with theoretical knowledge and advanced practical skills in the fields of conventional radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound (sonar), and interventional radiology, through intensive practical training in simulation laboratories equipped with the latest imaging devices, under the supervision of an experienced and specialized teaching staff.

To be a pioneer in technical radiology and sonar education and to graduate innovative radiology and sonar technicians who contribute to the development of imaging diagnostics and improving the quality of healthcare at both the local and international levels.

To provide distinguished education in technical radiology and sonar that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application, enhance applied scientific research, and serve the community, in order to graduate qualified radiology and sonar technicians capable of competing locally and globally, while adhering to the highest standards of quality, radiation safety, and professional ethics.

1. Preparing Distinguished Radiology and Sonar Technicians: Providing an integrated academic program that covers all aspects of technical radiology and sonar, and equipping graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in radiology departments, hospitals, and specialized centers.

2. Developing Practical and Technical Skills: Providing students with advanced practical experience through training on conventional X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound (sonar) devices.

3. Enhancing Applied Scientific Research: Encouraging faculty members and students to conduct applied research in the fields of medical imaging techniques and improving the accuracy of imaging diagnostics.

4. Community Service: Contributing to providing awareness imaging services to the community, and participating in health campaigns for early detection of diseases using various imaging techniques.

5. Partnership with Healthcare Institutions: Building a strong cooperation network with hospitals, radiology departments, and specialized imaging centers to provide distinguished training and employment opportunities for graduates.

6. Commitment to Quality and Accreditation: Applying comprehensive quality standards in education and practical training, and working towards obtaining programmatic accreditation for the department from local and international bodies.
